Supplier Diversity at M&T Bank

As a community bank, we actively work to include all our communities, striving to use a strong Diversity, Equity and Inclusion lens through all that we do.

It begins from within.

Creating and executing our strategy — together.

Our Vision

We believe in a more inclusive and representative society and economy where the breakdown of our spend with each group of underrepresented suppliers will mirror the demographic makeup of the Bank’s geographic footprint.

Our Mission

We will be the leading regional bank in reducing barriers to success for underrepresented businesses, starting by proactively seeking to increase our spend with a greater number of these businesses and gaining their trust as a customer and partner.

Our Key Objectives

  • Connect diverse suppliers in M&T’s communities with internal stakeholders who may benefit from their services
  • Provide data and clarity to internal stakeholders on how the diversity of their supplier pool is contributing to M&T’s overall supplier diversity
  • Seek out diverse suppliers to participate in RFPs run by the Strategic Sourcing team

We are actively seeking to increase the number of firms we work with and the proportion of dollars we spend with businesses owned by people hailing from the following communities:

People of color

(Minority Business Enterprises, or MBEs)

Women

(Women Business Enterprises, or WBEs)

Members of the LGBTQ+ community

(LGBT Business Enterprises, or LGBTBEs)

People with disabilities

(Disabled-Owned Business Enterprises, or DOBEs)

Veterans

(Veteran Business Enterprises, or VBEs)
