What does a business customer need to bring into a branch to open an account?
2 primary OR 1 primary AND 2 secondary forms of ID required
Examples of Primary ID include: DBA Certificate, Articles/Certificate of Incorporation, Articles Of Association/Organization, Limited Partnership Agreement/Certificate Of Limited Liability Partnership/Certificate Of Limited Liability Company, General Partnership Agreement

When are checking account service charges assessed?
Business Accounts are charged on the 9th of the month, if this day is not a Business Day then the charges will post the following Business Day. This breakdown of fees is provided in the Account Opening Kit. To receive an account analysis statement, please visit your local branch or call 1-800-724-6070.
What products can be used as overdraft protection?
With Overdraft Protection, available funds are automatically transferred to your checking account from another M&T Bank business account. The following are eligible business accounts that can be linked to your Small Business checking account and used for Overdraft Protection:
Where can I find my account number?
Your account number is provided with your Account Opening document and on your statement.
Your routing number and account number can be found on the bottom left of your check as well, beginning with the routing number.
Can I make a bank-to-bank transfer for a business account?
Bank to Bank transfer can be completed using Online Banking for Business.
Can I transfer from a business to personal account or personal to business account?
Yes, these types of transfers can be completed using Online Banking for Business.
What are debit card limits? Is there a chart?
Business Debit Card
ATM/cash withdrawals:
- 15 withdrawals with a maximum of $1,000 per day
All other transactions combined:
- 20 transactions with a maximum of $7,500 per day
Note: This is a combined limit for VISA "Credit" or Signature transactions and all PIN POS transactions.
M&T Business ATM Cards
ATM/cash withdrawals:
- 9 withdrawals with a maximum of $500 per day
PIN POS purchases:
- PIN POS purchases are not available on ATM cards

How can I dispute an item?
Please visit your local branch, contact your relationship manager, or call us at 1-800-724-6070.
How can I check online inquiries?
Online inquiries such as 'Did the item clear?', 'How to make a company administrator change?,' and 'How to change/add a user on an account?' can be made by your online banking administrator.
Why are the funds from my check not available immediately?
When you deposit a check, the bank still has to collect funds from the issuing bank. Business Customers generally receive next day availability on checks deposited.
